If you can do step 7 (changelog) and the first parts of step 9 (update the version in pymel/__init__.py, supported maya versions in readme.md, minimum supported python versions in pyproject.toml), then i can do the rest. Import pymel.core as pm once you have imported the pymel library, you can use the pymel commands.
